I write about the seams where people meet the natural world — fisheries, watersheds, harvests, hurricanes — and the cultures that translate between them. My training is in environmental journalism, but my notebook spends as much time in a Brazilian favela or a Seville street market as it does in a Minneapolis newsroom.
I am a Fulbright U.S. Semi-Finalist for the Brazil English Teaching Assistantship, a former Rotary Youth Exchange student to Brazil, and a graduate of Eckerd College's environmental journalism program. I work bilingually in Portuguese and Spanish.
For three years I have led social media strategy for a portfolio of small organizations — work that has taught me to translate the same story across audiences and formats without losing what makes it true.
